Javier “Javi” Martínez Aguinaga born in Estella-Lizarra in Navarre is a one of the best Spanish footballers who current plays for Athletic Bilbao in Primera. Mainly a defensive midfielder, he can also operate as a central defender and he is very dangerous in attacking actions also as well as destruct opponents strikers. Javier Martínez also played for the Spanish national team and was a member of the famous squad that won the 2010 World Cup. In the 2011–12 season, under new manager Marcelo Bielsa, Martínez began being regularly used as a central defender.
He was a plaer in Osasuna. Athletic de Bilbao signed Martínez as a raw 17-year old for big €6 million, in the summer of 2006, from fellow Primera team CA Osasuna,despite him never having played a first team game. They knows he will be one of the best players in the world soon. He play with his team mates: Iker Muniain and Oscar de Marcos. He is very tall and strong.
